Can you tell us a bit about your life right now?

What does a typical day look like for you in this season of motherhood? As a photographer and full time mama, life feels very active these days. I’m constantly running around chasing my sweet boy, watching him experience the world for the first time, and getting to play right alongside him. Every day feels a little messy, beautiful, and full of discovery.

How would you describe the version of yourself before motherhood compared to now?

Honestly, I was a little selfish before motherhood. I loved sleeping in, staying out late, and living mostly for myself. Now, my entire world revolves around my son, his happiness, wellbeing, and needs. I think, feel, and live for him in a way I never could have imagined before becoming a mom.

What parts of yourself have grown stronger, and what parts have softened?

My strength comes from fear, honestly. Every day I have to fight the urge to protect my son from every little thing that could hurt him or make him uncomfortable. As much as I want to keep him safe, I also want him to explore the world freely and learn through experience. That balance has been one of the hardest and most important things for me to grow through. As for what’s softened… definitely my hips, that’s for sure ;)

What’s something about motherhood that people don’t talk about enough?

I don’t think people talk enough about how important it is to continue following your passions after becoming a parent. It’s so easy to pour every ounce of yourself into keeping everyone else happy and cared for, whether that’s your child, relationship, or home. But it’s also really important to prioritize the things that fill your own cup and make you feel like yourself too.

What are you learning to hold onto, and what are you learning to let go of?

I’m holding onto this baby phase for as long as I can. Every time I look at a photo of my son from even a few months earlier, I can already see how much he’s grown and changed. It makes me cherish every phase of his life as deeply as possible. I’m learning to let go of trying to control everything around me… including my partner ;)

How does Mandrn fit into your mama life?

It’s truly the easiest grab and go bag. I’m always finding little rocks, toy trucks, or dried flowers inside of it, which honestly makes me love it even more. It has room for both me and my son at any given moment, on any adventure.
